What is a Poker Run? A Race? A Game of Chance? NO! A Poker Run is fun on the water. It is a fun filled, safe, well organized family event. It is a chance to make new friends and support a worthy cause. Each crew and boat will navigate a carefully charted course stopping at several checkpoints to pick up sealed envelopes containing a single playing card. After completing the course and returning to the rendevous point, the envelopes are opened and the highest poker hand is declared the winner. Our poker runners are avid boaters who like to spend their time out on the open water. The Chesapeake Bay Poker Run will be an event to enjoy and raise funds to support the American Cancer Society's quest to eradicate a disease that has touched all of us. Additional Poker hands may be played on partcipating boat $25/hand. Start time to be posted at Friday, August 6 Captain's meeting. Classes to be determined from Entrants. Entries from Trawler Fishing, PWC, Performance, Monohull, and Catamaran Craft are encouraged. Come and join us on August 7, 1999 in Norfolk, Virginia for the first Chesapeake Bay Poker Run.
